Hi PSIO Club! My name is Ian Jean, and I’m so excited to be your president this year. I’m a senior majoring in Physiology and Medical Sciences, and I’m hoping to attend medical school in the near future. Outside of school, I love going on walks, reading, going to church, and volunteering at Z Mansion on Sundays. You can typically find me hanging around the Newman Center, Bear Down Building, or Health Sciences campus. I’m looking forward to hanging out with all of you this year. Ashwin Suresh
Hi everyone! My name is Ashwin Suresh, and I’m excited to be your Vice President for the 2026–2027 school year! My hometown is Scottsdale, AZ, and I’m currently a junior majoring in Physiology and Medical Sciences, with minors in Biochemistry and Health & Human Values. I joined PSIO Club my freshman year, and it has played a huge role in my college experience. Outside of PSIO Club, I work as a physical therapy technician at Campus Health. I also conduct translational cardiovascular research in the Colson Lab. In my free time, I enjoy watching sports and playing pickleball and basketball. I also love spending time with friends, listening to new music, and playing poker. In the future, I plan on going to medical school to specialize in orthopedics and sports medicine. Harini Arumugam Gandhimathi
Hi everyone. My name is Harini Arumugam Gandhimathi and I will be serving as your Treasurer for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year. I am a Junior in the W.A. Franke Honors College majoring in Physiology and Medical Sciences with pursuing a minor in Biochemistry as well. I became involved in PSIO club in Freshman year and loved it ever since! I plan to attend medical school to become an Ob-Gyn in the future. I currently work as a research assistant in a Public health-based lab called SCORCH (Southwest Center on Resilience for Climate Change and Health) focused on providing community exposure to extreme heat relief in Southern Arizona. I also serve as the Director of Fundraising for AANHPI, a member of the honors student council and banner pediatrics volunteer. In my free time, I love reading dystopian books, especially Hunger games, doing yoga, and spending time with friends and family. I am so excited to serve another year as your PSIO club Treasurer. Ryder Deffinbaugh
Hey PSIO Club! My name is Ryder Deffinbaugh and I am going to be your Secretary for the 2026-2027 school year. I am currently a senior in the W.A. Franke Honors College majoring in Medicine with minors in Biochemistry and Emergency Medical Services. Along with being part of our amazing Physio Club, I am an EMT and Field Training Officer for UAEMS, Lead Tutor at the SALT Center, and preceptor for the EMT class here at U of A! I am originally from Los Angeles County, California, and my absolute favorite thing is spending time in Southern California visiting my family. In my free time, I love to read, crochet, watch baseball (go Orioles!), and swim. In the future, I plan on applying to medical school to ultimately become a pediatric emergency department physician. Haarika Raavi
Hello everyone!! My name is Haarika Raavi, and I will be your Academic Chair for the 2026-27 academic year. I’m super excited to meet you all, and to help create an amazing year with PSIO Club! I am a sophomore majoring in Biochemistry, with a minor in Religious Studies for Health Professionals. I grew up in Yuma, AZ, but moved to Peoria, AZ, in 2019! I joined PSIO Club last year as a freshman, and I genuinely believe that it was one of the best choices I’ve ever made. This club is truly such a welcoming, nontoxic environment to get started on one’s healthcare journey, constantly surrounded by peers that wish for your success as you wish for theirs. Outside of PSIO Club, I am a Chemistry & Biochemistry Ambassador and Peer Mentor, Writing Center Tutor with UA's THINK TANK, and volunteer with 8 Minute Meals. In my free time, I enjoy exploring food spots around Tucson, listening to music, reading about historical events, watching F1 and tennis, and walking outdoors (only when the weather’s bearable though)! In the future, I hope to become a cardiologist aiding underserved communities in rural settings or as part of Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders). Sophia Le
Hi everyone! I’m Sophia Le, and I am going to be your Career and Development Chair for the 2026-2027 academic year! As a junior, I am majoring in Physiology and Medical Sciences and minoring in Health and Human Values along with Biochemistry. I aspire to pursue medical school with interests in exploring specialties such as endocrinology and family medicine. Joining PSIO Club has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in helping me connect with the most supportive community and exploring the many diverse paths within healthcare. I am so excited to continue to give back and contribute to the community that means so much to all of us! Outside of PSIO club, I am a student advisor with the Physiology Honors Academy, a student volunteer with the UA Mobile Health Unit, and a PATH mentor! In my free time, I like journaling, crafting, and taking workout classes at NorthRec. Health and Wellness Chair
Alan Andrade
Hey there, PSIO Club!! My name is Alan Andrade and I’m very excited to be your Health and Wellness Chair for 2026-27. I am currently a Junior majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology and minoring in Health and Human Values, Psychology, and Creative Intelligence and Innovation. Physiology Club has been hands down one of the most meaningful parts of my college experience thus far. From the very beginning, it has been the place where curiosity and community culminate through the incredible opportunities, events, and spectacular people :) From getting the chance to represent the club by shooting a half-court shot at a University of Arizona men’s basketball game, to hearing inspirational advice from club alumni, it is mesmerizing to see the supportive culture that makes this organization so special. This club has helped me grow tremendously, and I’m very excited to transmit these same rewarding and rejuvenating experiences back to the community!! Outside of Physiology club, I am an RA in the Honors Village Dorm, a project lead for PATH, the Event Coordinator for Honors Service Club, and Secretary for the Health and Human Values Club. Felicia Zhang
Hi everyone! My name is Felicia Zhang and I'm so excited to be serving as your Public Relations Chair for the 2026- 2027 school year. I am from Alberta, Canada, but I grew up in Scottsdale/Mesa, Arizona. I am currently a Junior in the W.A Franke Honors College majoring in Physiology and Medical Sciences and minoring in Emergency Medicine. In the future, I plan to travel the world and pursue medicine with the ultimate goal of becoming a Pediatrician or a Family Medicine Physician. Physiology Club has offered me so many new experiences, from volunteering at a ranch to learning how to suture and I am so grateful to be able to give back to this amazing community. Outside of PSIO club, I am a Wellcats (Campus Health) Lead ambassador and an undergrad research assistant for CRED (Community, Research, Evaluation, and Development) team. I also have a podcast called Scrubbed In where I interview various healthcare workers about their story and gain insight from their advice. In my free time, I like to pen pal, hike with friends, explore Tucson, play Tennis, and craft from scrapbooking and jewelry making to designing and sewing clothes. Hi PSIO Club! My name is Rea Patel and I will be serving as your Clinical Chair for 2026-2027 academic year! I am a sophomore majoring in Physiology and Medical Sciences with minors in Health and Human Values and Criminology. I do research with the Armin Lab, where we aim to connect underserved communities to health and social services, and I also am a PATH Mentor and a student advisor for PHA. In my free time, I enjoy scrapbooking, traveling, and exploring new coffee shops. In the future, I plan to attend medical school. I am excited to meet and get to know all of you! Physiology Chair
Bradley Flowers
Hey PSIO Club! My name is Bradley Flowers, and I am looking forward to serving as your Physiology Chair for the 2026-2027 academic year! I grew up in Queen Creek, Arizona, and am now a senior in the W.A. Franke Honors College majoring in Medicine, with a minor in Biochemistry. I first became involved with PSIO Club during my freshman year, and this will be my first year on the board. Outside of PSIO Club, I am currently the secretary for the Community HealthEd - Tucson Club and a volunteer in multiple Banner hospitals and departments. I also love teaching – I’ve been a preceptor for both organic chemistry and immunology, with more positions planned, and I worked as a swim instructor back home. Another focus of mine is a research project with two medical students and a physician from the College of Medicine - Phoenix, with the goal of developing a protocol for managing appendicitis during long-duration space missions. Alongside this, I am planning to lead a similar study on cholecystitis for my Honors Thesis. I love all things related to space, so I am eyeing aerospace medicine as a potential means of combining my interests, but I am also interested in emergency medicine, surgery, and anesthesiology! I might even try to become an astronaut someday, but we’ll see. Beyond work, I enjoy playing soccer, social dancing, and flying. Hi y’all! My name is Sadie Evans and I’m from Los Alamos, New Mexico! I am so excited to be a part of the Physio Club board this year and create some fun community oriented events! I love trail running, crafting, thrifting, and hanging out with friends.

Bella Blackman
Hello PSIO Club!! My name is Bella Blackman and I will be your Social Chair for the 2026-2027 school year! I am a senior majoring in Physiology and Medical Sciences with an emphasis in Exercise and Extreme Physiology. I work as an Athletic Training technician for our football team here at the U of A and I am planning on attending AT school to pursue a career in the NFL! I joined PSIO Club during my sophomore year and it has been one of the best decisions I have made here at Arizona, opening up numerous opportunities to grow academically, professionally, and personally. I am from Manhattan Beach, California, and in my free time I enjoy prone paddle boarding and going on walks around our beautiful campus. I am also a member of the sorority Pi Beta Phi and love to spend time with my friends!
